Jam, pancakes, apples and coffee are just some of the many different types of food that appear in the Moomin stories. The characters in the Moomin stories have a special relationship with nature and the people they live with, emphasized by eating and sharing table.
This exhibit concentrates on the culinary elements in the Moomin stories, investigating the joyous and social atmosphere of gathering for feast which can be described as “convivial”. We can see the sense of conviviality in the way the Moomin Valley friends get together and relax over meals.
The exhibition presents the world of Moomin Valley through the Moomin Museum’s original paintings and reproductions, emblematic quotes from the Moomin stories and precious exhibits, including the handmade Atelier Fauni dolls.
Let’s join the Moomin’s table, where you can encounter the bond between eating and coexisting.
